During the months of July and August, the City Council launched a summer campus and a cultural toy library that add up to 68 places each month, for children from 3 to 12 years old, and aimed at single-parent families or those in which both parents work with the objective of facilitating family and work reconciliation during this period. The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, today visited the free conciliation services launched during the summer period by the City Council, framed in the line of action eligible for the Operational Program 'European Social Fund' of the Region of Murcia . Thus, on July 1, the Summer Campus began with 50 children from 3 to 12 years old, which takes place in the Las Esperanzas public school, distributed in work groups of 10 children, who follow different itineraries to comply with the security measures established to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This summer campus is also complemented by the "La Higuera de la unas shame" cultural toy library, which takes place in the Center for Leisure and Emerging Arts, with 18 children from 6 to 12 years old and focused on artistic disciplines, such as theatrical techniques.
, dance, music and plastic arts. The mayor explained that given the impossibility of conducting summer school in optimal conditions, the City Council has chosen to offer this alternative, which is more restricted with the main objective of promoting family and work-life balance for people from Pinar del Río and has highlighted the great reception of both initiatives, which quickly covered the places offered for the two months. "In addition, the grant offered by the Autonomous Community has allowed us to offer these services completely free of charge to families, which is also an economic relief in the current situation," said the mayor.
