The municipality returns this summer to host the International University of the Sea with two courses in the area of ??health and education, in online mode due to the current health situation.The Councilor for Education of San Pedro del Pinatar, Carmen María López and the director of the Universidad del Mar (UNIMAR), María José Portillo, the co-director of the biomedicine workshop, José Meseguer, and the coordinator of the theater and music course, Rosa Mª Pérez, today presented the UNIMAR training offer in the municipality, which will take place in September.Carmen María López has highlighted the close collaboration between the City Council and the International University of the Sea (UNIMAR) that dates back to 2001.
Since then, the municipality has hosted a diverse training offer that this year will be taught online by the current health situation.For her part, María José Portillo thanked the City Council for its collaboration in carrying out this new edition of UNIMAR's summer courses to bring the University closer to citizens, through projects like this one that this year have had to adapt to the new circumstances marked by COVID-19 that require courses to be carried out over the Internet.The director of UNIMAR recalled that this year, in addition to resorting to online courses, "a large number of scholarships have been announced so that no student economically affected by the pandemic is left without being able to take a course."Thus, from September 16 to 18, the VII Workshop on Biomedicine and quality of life will be given, which, among other topics, addresses the need to achieve a good quality of life through a series of activities related to daily health and worship.
