| The maintenance and improvement works of both promenades, which occupy an area of ??20,000 square meters, have a budget of 1,623,000 euros | This morning the maintenance and improvement works of the La Puntica and Villananitos promenade began, which aims to enhance the maritime façade of the town to the Mar Menor with a budget of 1,623,000 euros. This project will provide this space with great socio-economic value, greater functionality and accessibility, adapting itineraries, accesses, levels and surfaces; as well as updating street lighting and furniture. The works, which will be carried out in phases, cover a total area of ??20,000 square meters and are divided into two lots, actions on the La Puntica promenade, from Varadero street to the end of the municipality on its border with San Javier, which It has a budget of 813,000 euros and another on the route through Campoamor street until its meeting with Molino de Quintín, which has a budget of 810,000 euros. As for the remodeling work that will be carried out, they will have an execution period of five months and, in both areas of the promenade, the perimeter wall that separates the strip of sand from the pedestrian zone will be replaced, the space will be a new, more functional bike lane and the urban furniture will be renewed in addition to changing the current luminaires for LED technology, among other actions. The objective of this work is to remodel and improve an important pedestrian area for the purpose of recreational, leisure, commercial use, and environmental improvement, without unevenness in sidewalks for the creation of new meeting spaces with new urban furniture and adaptation of the urban services to the new ordinance taking into account the improvement of accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
