The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, Director General of Evaluation and Regional Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Rosa Peñalver, Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José María García Ruiz, and María José Jiménez Pérez, Director General Center of the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Region have participated this morning in the symbolic act of laying the first stone of the new Public Education Center Children's San Pedro del Pinatar.
The construction of this new school is part of Educa 3 Plan promoted by the Government of Spain and agreed with the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The contract was for 538,390 euros and the winning company (UTE Convair and Restaul) is committed to complete the project in December this year.
For funding the Ministry of Education provides total cost of the works managed by the Autonomous Community (538,390 euros) and the Municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar provides the land it sits Infant School.
The new school is located between the streets and Assistant Antonio Carrillo Puerto Lumbreras to San Pedro, a passageway between the local and the new developing urban Pagán.
The nursery will occupy 901.98 m2 to which must be added 258.66 m2 plus patio garden area with trees.
This center will have 6 units, two groups for ages 1 to 2 years and four groups for children from 2 to 3 years with a total of 106 new kindergarten places in this town.
The classrooms will be differentiated by colors giving a playful aspect to the educational environment whose outer perimeter south, will be glazed to take advantage of sunlight and interior space communicating with the outside.
A pergola will be the extension of the structure for outdoor activities enjoying the lovely weather in San Pedro del Pinatar, the soil outside the play area will have different textures, hard, soft, sand and artificial turf to allow for different uses.
The new nursery will be rest areas for children, dining room and multipurpose room.
Education Plan 3
The construction of this new school is part of Educa 3 Plan promoted by the Government of Spain and is equipped for the years 2009 and 2010 in the Murcia region with 7,873,294 euros.
Thus, by the end of 2011 will be built or expanded 16 locations in Early Childhood Education First Cycle which will involve the creation of 1,577 places.
These centers will be built at 13 locations in the Region of Murcia: Murcia, Abarán, Alguazas, Eagles, Blanca, Calasparra, Molina de Segura, Torre Pacheco, Villanueva, La Union, Lorca, San Pedro del Pinatar and Yecla.
According to the agreements signed between the Government of Spain and the Autonomous Community of Murcia, within the framework of the Education Plan 3, the Ministry of Education provides 50 percent of the cost of the works and the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment and / or the respective municipalities the other 50 percent
These Early Childhood Education Centers are a prime need in our region, where there is a big shortage of places and allow families to reconcile work and family life while the children receive proper care.
Characteristics of the centers
Children Schools must have a minimum of three units, one room for each unit of a minimum of 30 square meters separate areas for relaxation and health of children under two years, adequate space for food preparation for children a year, a multipurpose room of 30 square meters, a yard with an area of not less than 75 square meters, toilets, space for management and administration, and from six units, a staff room.
The maximum number of students per school unit will be 8 in children under one year, 13 children aged under two years and 20 for groups of 2 to 3 years.
In addition, nursery schools must have qualified personnel in the terms established in the basic rules in the same number of units in operation, but one and six units must have at least a specialist teacher in Early Childhood Education.
