In February, despite the increase in unemployment at the regional level, registered unemployment in San Pedro del Pinatar has been of 2,430 unemployed, representing a decrease of 1 unemployed for the month of January 2016, in which the 2,431 registered unemployed unemployed.
Data on-year, compared to February 2015, there has been a decrease of 214 unemployed (one 8.09% less).
Jose Fernandez Andreo, Councillor for Employment of San Pedro del Pinatar, stressed the importance of reducing unemployment in annual terms since it has been producing consecutively for the last 26 months.
The data registered unemployment in the city to 29 February 2016 are at the same level of unemployment than 2,010 February (where unemployment 2,430 registered unemployed).
Unemployment has decreased especially in the group of women under 25 years with 19 unemployed less, followed the group of men between 25 and 44 and the group of men over 44 years.
At the sectoral level, unemployment has increased in the sector without previous employment change, unemployment has fallen in the service sector, with 10 fewer unemployed, and the industry sector.
As for social security, in January 2016 (last month that available local authority data), the number of members in San Pedro del Pinatar stood at 6,323, representing an increase of 118 contributors over a 1.90% increase over the situation in December (6,205 members).
