Young volunteers between 18 and 30 twelve autonomous communities involved these days in the labor camp 'Pure Mediterranean', an environmental space around the Regional Park of Salinas de San Pedro, organized by the Department of Youth of the Ministry of culture and portavocía, in collaboration with CaixaBank and the city of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The general director of Youth, Francisco Sanchez and Councilman Celebration, Youth, Fairs City of San Pedro del Pinatar, Javier Castejón, visited this morning the 18 young people who are part of this project and are working for the first fortnight of July.
All activities are underway two weeks, both the park and the port and in the municipality, "revolve around the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar and are aimed at environmental awareness and promotion of ecotourism, although socio-cultural activities that help young people learn more and develop values ​​such as companionship, solidarity and teamwork, "explained Sanchez are also developed.
Participants received basic concepts of oceanography and classes on fishing gear and traditional navigation (lateen), fully respectful of the environment, and have traveled all corners of the park cycling and walking.
They also help in the park through the activities carried out: environmental education, definition of user profile park cleaning park and beaches, replant, good signposting of trails, bird watching, recording outrages wildlife , sampling and data collection, human impact both in the park and at sea, etc.
In addition to the volunteer work that is done daily in morning and afternoon (Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 19:00 hours), the labor camp has different cultural activities , leisure and free time included in your program.
During his visit, Sanchez said that these labor camps "are an excellent alternative entertainment for young people during the holidays, as they not only provide them with new knowledge, but contribute to their training as people and they perform tasks that are useful for society "and thanked all the participants' involvement and the great work done for the benefit of the environment and of our region," encouraging them to "spread the heritage and cultural richness of San Pedro del Pinatar" to return to their cities originally.
This field, Sanchez said, "is being carried out with the cooperation that has been providing CaixaBank in promoting the European Youth Card in collaboration with the Directorate General of Youth".
'Labor camps' is a youth volunteer program that takes place in all communities in Spain thanks to the involvement of youth organizations of each.
The content and the development of 'Pure Mediterranean' was prepared and carried out by technicians and volunteers from the North Wind South Association and participants remain housed in Space Recreation, Leisure and Emerging Arts of San Pedro del Pinatar.
