San Pedro del Pinatar today celebrated one of its greatest days, with a pilgrimage on foot from San Pedro to Lo Pagán in which thousands of people participated, and a maritime procession with hundreds of boats accompanying the Virgen del Carmen
The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar celebrated today one of the festivals with more roots and tradition, a procession by land and sea in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, where fishermen and faithful, accompanied by thousands of residents and visitors move their image from San Pedro del Pinatar to Lo Pagan.
The festival, which dates back to the eighteenth century in the municipality, has begun 0700 with a target through the streets of San Pedro del Pinatar, followed an hour later by a mass campaign Mass in the square of the Constitution.
Hundreds of people have been part of the pilgrimage which started at 09:00 am from the church St. Peter the Apostle to the port of Lo Pagán, making stops at the altars that residents and fishermen erected in honor of the Virgin and in which intoned the Salve Marinera.
