The Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) the municipality installed during the weekend points cuestación in San Pedro and Lo Pagán, with the aim of collecting funds for prevention programs, help the sick and their families and especially, research, as stated by the president of the local board of the AECC, Hilario Tárraga.
During the two days in which the campaign was conducted, the AECC raised approximately 9,000 euros.
Hilario Tárraga, explained that the association carries out this activity the first weekend in August for years, and highlighted the generosity of neighbors and visitors to the city that welcomed the cooperation.
For its part, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, who visited the table set up in the Plaza of the Constitution, stressed the importance of working with associations like the AECC that in recent years has contributed to the research of this disease as well and its prevention and providing help and support to patients and their environment.
