More than 200 families of San Pedro del Pinatar benefit from summer schools including the strategy of conciliation (17/08/2016)

The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Thomas and the Director General of Women, Alicia Barquero, today visited summer schools in the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, co-funded by the Autonomous Community, within the framework of the regional strategy reconciliation and responsibility.

More than 200 families will benefit from this municipality until September, these summer schools that facilitate mothers to reconcile professional activity with educational and leisure needs of the children in their care.

Thomas Violante said that "reconciliation and responsibility are essential to achieve the full integration of women into the workplace and thereby, equality between women and men".

The launch of services reconciliation of work, personal and family life during the summer is, as noted by the counselor, "fundamental in municipalities with tourist character as San Pedro del Pinatar, where employment levels at this time of year it is especially high. "

This resource is part of the strategy of conciliation and responsibility carried out by the Community and this year has a prize of 406,250 euros.

This budget provides funding for settlement services in the various municipalities in the region, designed to cater to children up to 12 years, whose parents are working or participating in training activities for employment.

Last year performances were organized in all municipalities, of which 3,760 families benefited.

The set of actions to promote responsibility and reconciling family work life, personal and is funded by the Operational Programme of the European Social Fund in the Region for 2014-2020.

During the rest of the year, the Ministry also funds other recreational and educational school projects in non-school periods of extended hours in schools and other municipal facilities, extracurricular activities, and transportation services of 'kangaroo' and care punctual.

The variety of subsidized resources will allow each municipality to adapt its offer to the specific characteristics of their labor markets and address more efficiently the needs of its population.

These grants is part of the strategy that the Autonomous Community is launching to promote employability and women's self-employment in the region.

"To develop these actions cooperation between the regional government and municipalities is indispensable. Only taking into account the needs and particularities of the labor market in each municipality is possible to develop a regional strategy to promote the full integration of women into the workplace "said Thomas Violante.
