The Alzheimer's Association Mar Menor (AMMA), which is based in San Pedro del Pinatar, now meets two years of life, coinciding with the celebration of World Day of the disease and has celebrated this anniversary with a table of awareness in the Constitution square under the slogan of this year "the value of care"
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Fuensanta Garcia, visited the members and volunteers of the association's objectives is to foster care and assistance to the sick, encourage the creation of centers day and specialized Alzheimer residences and provide a first orientation for family members and patients at the first signs of the disease.
The City Council has given to this association one of the rooms of the home of pensioner San Pedro del Pinatar, in which cognitive stimulation workshops are developed and accompaniments are made to the family in the early stages of diagnosis of the disease every Wednesday and Friday.
In addition, through local volunteer plan, 16 people have collaborated with monitors and psychologists of the Association in the development of their activities.
