Pinatarense school students will participate this weekend in this meeting organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and the Councillor for Education, Guadalupe Garcia, visited today the students that the coming days will represent the region in the VII Scientific Finde, held on 22 and 23 October at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Alcobendas.
A total of 10 students of the subject Extension of Physics and Chemistry of IES Dos Mares, next to the center's director, Maria Jesus Cantos del Viejo, and the head of the department of Physics and Chemistry and tutor of the initiative, Francisco Rojas, will lead this important scientific event the project "what paints a radish," winner of the IV contest "Chemistry in my environment", organized by the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry in Murcia, and other works presented in previous calls.
The event, organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), promotes the improvement of science education among young people by developing outreach activities and involves a total of 32 centers nationwide selected.
The mayor, who has given the center a certificate of recognition, has praised the work of these students and the teaching staff of IES Dos Mares, for participating in this type of activities promoting research and science among young people.
Likewise, the City is working with the project financing the transportation of students to Madrid.
They have also collaborated with the same entities and companies like Spanish Salinera and Cajamurcia Foundation.
