The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar is among the four municipalities in the region that have earned this distinction awarded by the Laboratory of Journalism and Communication Plural Citizenship (LPCCP) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, received the InfoParticipa seal that certifies the City of San Pedro del Pinatar for the quality and transparency of local public communication today.

This seal is awarded as a result of the study conducted by the LPCCP, in collaboration with the University of Murcia UCAM, in which the transparency of municipal websites is assessed through 52 indicators, adapted to the Transparency Act of which the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar turns 47, reaching over 90%.

This seal, which is considered the highest distinction, above 90%, have also obtained Cartagena (100%), Sewer (96%) and Lorquí (94%).

Mention was awarded to Las Torres de Cotillas and Mula (both with 84.62%).

And the recognition was awarded to the consistory of Bullas (69%), Cieza (61%), White (59.62%), Torre-Pacheco (59.62%) and Calasparra (52%).

InfoParticipa Map is a tool that has been promoting the LPCCP UAB since 2012 to promote transparency and quality of information from local authorities.

The current version has been developed with the support of two R & D + I projects funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, under the coordination of two research teams led by Amparo Moreno, professor emeritus of the Department of Journalism at the UAB, and by Juan Luis Manfredi, professor at the University of Castilla la Mancha.

After receiving this award, the mayor has stressed the commitment of the current government team for transparency, institutional control and open government to citizens.

A commitment, added the mayor, who has reinforced this term with the creation of the Department of Transparency and the launch of the portal of transparency, one of the most complete in the region of Murcia and offers citizens crowd municipal information of economic, urban, administrative, statistical type, etc.
