This award, granted by the Council of Culture and Portavocía of the Region of Murcia, recognizes the relevant action carried out by a young person in the social, cultural or scientific area of ​​the Region.

Last Friday, July 16, the Culture Ministry awarded the Young Prize of the Year, posthumously, to Juan Martínez Juliá, who died last May and who has always been involved in carrying out numerous projects, in collaboration with the Town Hall, as well as in musical activities, all kinds of initiatives with youth groups and next to the association Unlimited Arts.

Alejandro López, youth coordinator and friend of the winner, and his partner, María José, collected this award that recognizes the delivery of Juan Martínez Juliá with the others.

Alejandro highlighted John's work for many years with the young, as well as his charism and humanity.

"He devoted his whole life to always doing what he liked best, collaborating with people, making them always see their more participatory and creative side," added Lopez.

The Center Párraga de Murcia hosted the 8th Regional Youth Awards of Murcia, with which the Community recognizes the actions of young people and in favor of young people who stand out for their special impact on political, social, economic, associative and Cultural development of youth in the region.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, councilors of the Government Team, relatives and friends of Juan Martínez Juliá wanted to attend this ceremony in which they paid tribute to their work.

In total, six awards were awarded in the categories of Participation, Commitment, Initiative, Solidarity, Social Entrepreneurship and Youth of the Year.

These awards were created in 2002 and the last call was made at the end of 2008. Now, seven years later, "the regional government resumes this initiative with the aim of encouraging and supporting the active participation of our young people in society," stated the Noelia Arroyo, Minister of Culture and Portavocía.
