SEF's Director General, Alejandro Zamora, accompanied by the Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, visited the Special Employment Center of the non-profit association Aidemar, to be interested in how the recent rains in the region affected Of the Mar Menor to the activity of the center and its workers, of which the great majority are persons with disabilities.
This protected employment center has a large number of workers residing in Los Alcázares, the municipality that suffered most from the storm, and many of these people are still in the process of completely normalizing their situation.

Aidemar is an association born in 1982, which operates in the Mar Menor region and is composed of families with children with disabilities.
The SEF subsidizes this year with 406,000 euros 50 percent of the salary costs of 121 workers with some intellectual, physical or sensory disability, and also funds a support unit with eight professionals, managers and technicians, who deal with 67 of these Workers.
The center of Aidemar occupies its workers in activities such as maintenance of gardens, cleaning, maintenance of the urban environment, carpentry or ceramics, among others.

Alejandro Zamora also held a meeting with the Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, during which they studied the actions promoted this year in the municipality by the Community in terms of employment.
Some of these actions are two mixed employment and training programs focusing respectively on masonry and gardening activities, or three local public employment programs, totaling over 415,000 euros in grants.
Likewise, the director of the SEF analyzed with the mayor the positive evolution of employment in the municipality, where unemployment has fallen by 5.55 percent in the last twelve months, which means a decrease of 135 people in that period.
With regard to job creation, San Pedro del Pinatar registers an increase of 5.29 percent in the number of members of the Social Security, which is 331 more in the last twelve months.
