The Municipal Public Library of San Pedro del Pinatar has been awarded in the XVII edition of Animation Campaign to the Reading Maria Moliner, for the project titled: "We Continue Growing", with a lot of more than 150 books composed by novelties publishing and Financed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport that will be destined to be part of the bibliographic fund of the same.
The Campaign, developed since 1998 and aimed at public libraries of municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants, is a competition that seeks to reward the best projects or activities to promote reading, both among children and young people and among other social groups.
It is carried out thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and, since 2002, also with the Coca-Cola Spain Foundation.
Also, the Municipal Public Library has received 63 titles this year, with the "Continue to Grow" project, among the 100 best evaluated by the Evaluation Commission.
In addition, from January to December 2017, subscriptions will be received from several important cultural magazines.
Experience over the years has shown that the San Pedro del Pinatar Library plays an important role as not only a cultural but also a social and educational center that works in the animation of reading.
