The Plenary of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar today approved a joint motion signed by all political groups to honor the figure of this Pinatarian who died in May and who actively collaborated with a multitude of youth projects.
All the political groups of the Municipal Corporation of San Pedro del Pinatar have approved in the February plenary session a motion to name the Leisure Space, Leisure Time and Emerging Arts as "Juan Martínez Juliá" and create the Youth Prizes of San Pedro del Pinatar Pinatar with his name.
Juan Martínez Juliá died unexpectedly on May 3, 2016, leaving in the municipality a multitude of projects aimed at alternative leisure, audiovisual art, music or theater.
For six years, Juan Martinez found in the association Unlimited Art the space to work with groups of people, collaborate, participate and carry out their projects, as it had been doing long before, in collaboration with the Department of Youth.
Among other initiatives, the project Emerge 2013-2015 stands out, through which it guided young people of the municipality in video editing, graphic design, short films, etc .;
The Zero experiment, an audiovisual-theatrical spectacle;
The play Peter Pan, his participation in the terror show La Salida, the digital youth agenda Blue I;
The audiovisual program Season Zero or the development of an artistic classroom in the center of Leisure.
He also collaborated with the local institutes in the development of a high skills workshop or participating in an awareness campaign against Bullying.
In the last few months he was doing a short film workshop with the Youth Department that could not finish and completed his students and colleagues with a series of audiovisual tributes.
This altruistic and inspiring action, his willingness to work as a team, as well as his kind and conciliatory character, make Juan an example for young Pinatarenses.
For this reason, the City wants its legacy to remain alive and remain in the municipality, approving in the plenary to give its name to the Space of Leisure, Leisure and Emerging Arts and creating a Youth awards with his name.
A NEW SPARK SPACE
On the other hand, the Town Hall plenary has initiated the procedures to assign to the association of Family and People with Mental Illness and TGD of the Mar Menor (AFEMAR) the use of the multipurpose building, located in the Calle Concejal Mariano Henarejos and currently Is closed.
The AFEMAR association currently has a day center in Lo Pagán that serves about twenty users, as well as ten minors in the juvenile service, as well as their families.
An increasing activity that makes the space where they are located becomes insufficient, reason why it has asked to the city council the cession of the use of the mentioned building.
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, has highlighted the appropriateness of the municipal building for the development of these services and has praised the work carried out by this association in the Mar Menor region to care for people with mental illness and their families , Through its day center, programs of occupational activities, leisure and free time;
Awareness campaigns, family schools or the youth service, among others.
PROMOTION OF SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE USE OF THE INTERNET
A joint motion has also been approved by all groups to promote security in the use of the Internet, through responsible use of the network and affecting the most vulnerable groups, such as children and adolescents.
The integration of the Local Police in the educational community of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the figure of the Police Tutor, is already oriented to promote this safe use, through talks focused on social networks and the Internet, the risks of phenomena Such as bullying or sexting, and the criminal responsibility of minors.
Through this motion, the City Council promises to continue and promote these programs, to host next February 7 the International Internet Insurance Day and to organize a broader day for next year commemorating this date.
