The Plenary of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar has approved a Citizens' Initiative so that the municipality will host next February 7 the International Safe Internet Day, with the aim of sensitizing both minors, parents, educators, social workers, Entrepreneurs and politicians, on the responsible and safe use of ICTs.
José Luis Ros, spokesperson for Citizens in San Pedro del Pinatar, has emphasized the importance of promoting a responsible use of the Internet among minors "to prevent certain dangers such as cyberbullying, even more so in our region that has a very high school bullying index High compared to the rest of Spain. "
In this sense, Ros has insisted on the responsibility of raising awareness of the importance of making appropriate use of new technologies.
"Since its inception, the Internet has been used as a platform to disseminate messages.
For this reason we believe that this day is a great opportunity to sensitize the population about its use respectful and inclusive.
In addition, Citizens intends to promote the responsible use of new technologies, through the establishment of workshops throughout the year given by experts who, when possible, will be members of the Security Forces, using all educational centers and municipal facilities Available.
Likewise, it is planned to develop the "educate with ICT in the Family" program by publishing guides and opening consulting services to help parents and children in the responsible and safe use of new technologies.
It is also envisaged the carrying out of information dissemination campaigns, through the local media, covering contents that refer to the protection against risks most common in the network.
