A total of 15 Youth Guarantee young people participate in this mixed program of employment and training in the specialty of "Ancillary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers, aimed at facilitating their insertion in the workplace.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the Councilor for Employment, José Fernández, visited today the council park José Antonio Pérez Henarejos, in which the students of the employment and training program "Las Salinas II" are performing various Gardening works that have renovated and improved this green space.
A total of 15 young people between the ages of 20 and 26 participate in this training program, subsidized by the SEF and co-financed by the European Social Fund, which runs from May 2016 to May this year with a total of 1,920 hours. That 250 theoretical hours complete the Certificate of Professionalism that accredits the students who have obtained it to the accomplishment of occupations and jobs related to agricultural laborer and gardening, horticultural pawn, nursery pawn and garden center pawn.
In addition, these modules are complemented with transversal training in areas such as environmental awareness, gender equality, prevention of occupational risks or social economy, among others.

The objective of these programs is the training, learning, and qualification of the students, which alternates with productive work in a specific trade, with the purpose of facilitating their insertion in this area.
So during this period, students are hired by the City Council charging 75% of the interprofessional minimum wage.
The program has María Auxiliadora Navarro, as a monitor, who accompanies them both in the training and in the work carried out in different gardens of the municipality, and with the administrative support of Jesús Urbano.
During the development of the program, the work carried out in the park that has been visited today, next to the Thalasia Hotel, where work has been carried out consistently in the improvement of the drip irrigation system, the change of a new Maya or the Replenishment and planting of new plants.
In addition, maintenance work is carried out in different gardens and parks of the municipality.
