The Department of Festejos has organized this year an exhibition that reflects the years of tradition of this festival in the town and will also pay homage to all the Queens of the Carnival for 25 years.
The Councilor of Festivities of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, Javier Castejón, today presented at a press conference the activities of the Carnival 2017 to be held from 17 to 28 February.
The mayor has indicated that this year have been introduced to the party with the aim of boosting it and favoring a greater participation of the neighbors in the Carnival.
This year, he added, we wanted to look back and review the trajectory of Carnival in San Pedro del Pinatar, with an exhibition that reflects the evolution of this party in the municipality and in which, in addition to photographs of the last 30 years, the visitor will be able to see costumes and caps of different comparsas with a long tour in the locality.
This exhibition will be inaugurated next Friday, February 17, at the Barón de Benifayó museum, where you can visit until Tuesday 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., From Tuesday to Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The events will continue with the gala "Welcome to the Carnival", which will be held on Friday February 24 in the municipal tent, installed in the esplanade of Lo Pagán.
The councilman explained that the different participating groups will come on stage to present their costumes, the Mask of Carnival 2017 will be delivered to a person related to this festival and a tribute will be paid to the 25 years of Carnival Queens, with the presence of all they.
In this gala will also be realized, as a novelty, the traditional battle between Don Carnal and Dońa Cuaresma, which this year will be in charge of the Ballet Kebanna and will have the performance of different dance bodies of the participants.
The children's shift will be on Saturday, February 25, with the celebration of the Children's Carnival in the Plaza de la Constitución, which will begin at 11:00 with a walkway in which a gift will be given to all children in disguise.
At 12:00 pm the musical "Viva el Carnaval" will be performed, in charge of the Music Box and the party will continue in the afternoon with an inflatable park, from 16:00 to 20:00 hours and masks workshops, Pintacaras, and crafts from 17:00 hours.
On Sunday, February 26, at 5:00 p.m., the Great Carnival parade will begin, in which more than a dozen local and 14 invited guests will participate, which will leave the parking lot next to the Countess Villar de Felices Park until the Carp of the Esplanade of Lo Pagán, where the prizes will be given to the different local groups and participants.
