This consultative body of citizen participation analyzed at its meeting the accountability of municipal budgets, the Sustainable Development Strategy for the municipality and the hotel project of associations.
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, this week presided the City Social Council, an organ of citizen participation in which are present associations of neighbors, trade unions, businessmen, merchants, representatives of the elderly, the local associative fabric , Of the political groups and municipal technicians that discuss aspects of special municipal relevance.
At this first meeting in 2017, the Councilor for Finance, José Fernández, offered a comprehensive explanation of the municipal budgets, detailing the investments, current expenditure, income, payment plan to suppliers and municipal indebtedness.
In addition, new criteria for the preparation of upcoming budgets were collected during the session.
For its part, the Councilor for the Environment, Pedro Javier Sánchez, presented a report on the actions being carried out from the different administrations in the Mar Menor.
Likewise, he transferred the balance of the commission of experts that points out that the improvement of the lagoon will be visible from July.
The meeting also covered the new City Council to obtain FEDER funds through the call for Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI), which will be resolved in March.
Thus, the projects presented for the improvement of neighborhoods, promenades, electronic administration, improvement in the accessibility and recovery of the municipal patrimony were presented.
The meeting ended with the presentation of the participatory deliberative process for the elaboration of the Regulations for the use of the Hotel of associations, a project that seeks to recover the old house of the youth for the use of the local associative fabric.
Finally, the mayor thanked the participation and collaboration of the entities represented and their willingness to improve social welfare through actions such as these that deepen transparency in municipal management.
