The squash player Pinatarense, Cristina Gómez Jiménez, received this afternoon from the councilman of Sports of San Pedro del Pinatar, Daniel Perez, a gift with which the City Council wants to congratulate her for having recently proclaimed champion of Spain absolute of this sport.
The event took place at the San Pedro Sports Center in full celebration of the Spanish sub-11 and sub-15 squash championship that takes place over the weekend in these facilities so well known by Cristina and where she has participated in An exhibition party.
Gómez Jiménez, 18 years old, was proclaimed champion of Spain squash absolute when defeating Xisela Aranda, who had been during the last 7 years.
The championship was played at the facilities of the Castella Squash Club in Madrid on 10, 11 and 12 February.
Cristina started as number 1 seed and reached the final after defeating in the previous rounds Ana Castell, Maria Gonzalez and Marta Latorre without conceding any game and in just over an hour.
