San Pedro del Pinatar celebrates International Women's Day with a series of activities related to sport, culture, entrepreneurship and conciliation, all of which aim to reclaim the role of women in today's society.
The Councilor for Equality, Guadalupe Garcia, today presented the activities scheduled to commemorate the International Women's Day next March 8, in order to claim real equality and show the important role of women in the present.
Thus, the activities framed on this day began on Friday, February 24, with the broadcast on Radio Pinatar of the program "Social Memory", focusing on this occasion in the work experience and the difficulties of reconciliation of four women of different ages, who Talked about their professional experiences and everything that entails working inside and outside the family.
The program will continue on Wednesday, March 1, with the talk "Equality Projects in the Organization of Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals of Murcia (OMEP)." Business experiences ", by the audiologist and member of this organization Sheila Templado, who will explain Her experience and the way forward to start a business of her own, starting at 10:00 am at the Agustina Santiago Center for Social Services and Women.
This Sunday, March 5, will be held the fourth days "Women and Sport. Move for you, move for it", which will start at 09:30 hours of the park of the Sea Kings of Spain of Lo Pagan.
The council member explained the solidarity aspect of this activity, since the number to participate in it has a price of 5 euros that is entirely allocated to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
It is a circular march, from the esplanade of Lo Pagán, that crosses the zone of La Mota and the center of the locality;
At the end of the event there will also be master class of fitnnes and rhythms and raffles with different prizes given by local companies among the participants.
On Wednesday, March 8, International Women's Day will be commemorated, starting at 12:00 in the City Hall, with the activity "1 minute for Equality", in which the students of the institutes Dos Mares, Manuel Tárraga Escribano and the center of San Pedro Apóstol will present their vision of Gender Equality.
Subsequently will be the reading of the manifesto, by the mayor, and the inauguration and awards ceremony of the photography contest "Con M de Mujer", which in its sixth edition has had 48 works presented, the winning photograph being the image Of the poster of this programming.
The events will continue on Friday, March 10, with a day of coexistence in the Balneario de Archena, and will end on March 15 and 22, at 10:00 am in the Social Services center, with a workshop given by Maribel Cerrato, graduated in fine arts, and which, under the title "Las bellas dormidas" will show the work of artists who were silenced by their status as a woman throughout history.
