The City of San Pedro del Pinatar today commemorated the International Women's Day with the official manifesto read by the mayor, the initiative "A minute for equality" and the inauguration of the photographic exhibition "Con M de Mujer ".
The plenary hall of the Town Hall of San Pedro del Pinatar today hosted the institutional act of the International Women's Day, which has included the initiative "One Minute for Equality", developed by students of local institutes, reading Of the official manifesto and the opening of the photographic exhibition "Con M de Mujer".
The act has started with the intervention of the Councilor for Equality, Guadalupe García, who has read the motion approved in March by the municipal plenary that recognizes the work done over decades by women to Combating discrimination.
Subsequently, the students of the IES Dos Mares, Concerted Center San Pedro Apóstol and the IES Manuel Tárraga Escribano have carried out the activity "A minute for equality", through which they have reflected their vision on gender equality.
The students of the IES Dos Mares have opted for a striking performance in which both men and women performed equally actions traditionally related to a certain gender.
For their part, students of the San Pedro Apostle Center have analyzed the role of women in fields such as literature, science, music or fashion, where they have been relegated to the background for centuries.
The IES Tárraga Escribano has chosen to review the female figure in the sport and how it has evolved since the first Olympic competitions.
Later, the mayor has read the official manifesto, woman, in which he has called for the joint action of society to work for real equality "we must eliminate the existing gaps in leadership, not only in the workplace, but also in All the decision-making spaces in the different plots of social, economic and cultural life, "he said.
During the event, prizes were also awarded to the winners of the sixth edition of the "Con M de mujer" photography competition, more than 40 photographs of 23 participants from different parts of Spain.
The exhibition can be seen in the press room attached to the plenary hall.
The first prize, endowed with 200 euros, went to the artist Marta Gómez Moreno Pinatarense, with the photograph "Flowers of Winter", image also of the poster of the programming of the 8th of March.
The photo "And if they say they say", by Kike Balenzategui, has won the second prize, endowed with a hotel night and spa circuit in a hotel of the locality.
Also has given a second prize to Celia Muñoz for "The complicity of a mother".
The events will continue on Friday, March 10, with a day of coexistence in the Balneario de Archena, and will end on March 15 and 22, at 10:00 am in the Social Services center, with a workshop given by Maribel Cerrato, graduated in fine arts, and which, under the title "Las bellas dormidas" will show the work of artists who were silenced by their status as a woman throughout history.
