The eighth edition of the Villa de San Pedro procession marches also included the tribute to the Processionist of the Year, a distinction that the General Council of Agrupaciones granted this year 'in memoriam' to Antonio Escudero and Domingo Conesa.
The Church of the Holy Trinity hosted last night, March 31, the VIII Composition Competition of Procession Marches of Holy Week Villa of San Pedro, in which was won the work "Llanto por Cristo muerto", by David Rivas.
During the event, the band Musical Union of San Pedro, under the direction of Rafael López Bueno, director of the contest, interpreted the five finalist marches, of the 53 presented, titled "Lagrima and passion", "Llanto por Cristo muerto", " Sea of ​​Hope "," Penitenciagite "and" A sky at your feet ".
The jury won the "Llanto por Cristo Muerto" march, a first prize with 1,600 euros, and the march was given to the brotherhood of the Christ of the Mar Menor.
The second prize, endowed with 800 went to "Penitenciagite", of Pedro Sanz, whereas the work "Lagrima and Passion", of Jose Luis Espinosa, obtained the third prize of 400 euros.
The fourth prize of 200 euros was for "Mar de Esperanza" by Juan Jesus López, while the fifth prize, also of 200 euros, fell on the work "Un cielo a tus pies" by Raúl López ..
The jury was composed by José Navarro Hernández, President of the Jury, conductor and clarinet teacher;
José Miguel Rodilla, professor of Orchestra Direction of the Superior Conservatory of Music of Murcia;
Julio César Ruiz, director of the Music Unit of the Basic Academy of Subofficers of the Air Force in León;
Pedro Contreras, composer, piano teacher and music producer, and Eduardo Macía, director of the San Pedro Musical Union and San Bartolomé Musical Union.
During the ceremony was also given the title of Processionist of the year, which the Cabildo this year posthumously awarded Antonio Escudero, for years president of the brotherhood of the Holy Sepulcher and secretary of the Cabildo, and Domingo Conesa, mayordomo and devotee of the Virgin Of Los Dolores.
The repertoire played by the municipal band was completed with the pieces Cristo Gitano, by Manuel Ruzafa, "And the Angels", by M. Ruzafa and "Dulce Nombre de María" by Victor M. Ferrer.
