The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the deputy director general of Public Health and Addictions, Juan Jiménez, and the president of Caarfe, Angel Giménez, today inaugurated the II Meeting of addicted women in rehabilitation and family, held in The Hotel Neptuno during the weekend.
This meeting, which involves associations from all over Spain, addresses the problem of addictions from a gender perspective, with conferences, technical workshops, workshops and experiences, in which representatives of associations, psychologists, lawyers, doctors, Social workers, etc.
The mayor thanked the organization to choose San Pedro del Pinatar to develop this second meeting and stressed the importance of this type of activities to advance actions aimed at improving the prevention and care of addictions.
In this regard, he noted that the City of San Pedro del Pinatar has a municipal drug prevention plan, which addresses this problem from the family, school, work and community.
On the other hand, Juan Jiménez has influenced the important role of associations in the recovery of addicts and in the postal process, so he has advocated that these groups and aid groups take a leading role in the area of ​​health .
The president of Caarfe has indicated that from this confederation work in providing support and assistance to families where the administrations do not arrive, as a complement to their treatment.
In addition, it has affirmed that this type of events contribute to eliminate the stigma that weighs on the people addicted.
