The Center of Nautical Activities of Lo Pagán hosts this weekend the fifth edition of this tournament in which more than 15 teams and 350 athletes participate.
The Councilor for Sports of San Pedro del Pinatar, Daniel Perez, and the president of the Association of Sports Pinatarense, Pedro López, presented today at a press conference the V International Dragon Boat Festival, which will take place on 15 and 16 April in The Center of Nautical Activities of Lo Pagán.
The council has highlighted that, as in previous editions, this championship is part of the VI Sea World Exhibition, a fun, tourist and sports event with dozens of activities in the area of ​​Lo Pagan during Holy Week.
For his part, Pedro López explained that, so far there are 16 teams from different countries in Europe, Asia and America, being the first competition of this discipline that brings together paddlers from three continents.
From tomorrow, Thursday 13 April, there will be training and receptions of the teams, activities prior to the competition, which will be held from 09:00 to 14:00 hours at the Center for Nautical Activities.
Thus, on Saturday will start the competition, which will have different categories in a distance of 200 meters;
While the semifinals and finals will be played on Sunday.
In the framework of this competition will also be held the III BCS Challege (Breast Cancer Survivor), which involve clubs with cancer survivors, such as the local team Flamenco Rosa.
