This action is part of the municipal training program for the improvement of employability and is mainly aimed at job seekers residing in San Pedro del Pinatar.
The Town Council of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the Department of Employment, launches four computer literacy workshops for job search, which will run from May 2 to June 23.
The Councilor for Employment, José Fernández, explained that these workshops are aimed primarily at unemployed over 40 years of age with basic computer literacy needs.
"We want to equip this group with the necessary IT tools for a better insertion and positioning in the labor market," he explained.
In addition, these workshops will also provide training for students to learn how to use web applications for access to employment services, social security and other public administrations that routinely offer their services to citizens in an electronic way.
In the development of the workshops participants will learn to use different tools under Windows environment such as operating system, word processor, Internet browsers, information search engines and email.
The objective is to acquire the necessary knowledge to use their electronic devices in a basic and autonomous way, focusing on the search of resources for employment.
Fernández highlighted the relevance of these workshops as "the use of new technologies is essential today. Therefore, it is vital to acquire a basic knowledge of computer tools, as it will not only improve the employability of the population Object but will also improve their quality of life and their day to day overall. "
These workshops will be held in the morning and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., during the months of May and June, at the Agustina Santiago Center for Equality and Social Services, located at Calle Mirón de Castro .
