The multipurpose hall of the Municipal Museum Barón de Benifayó, hosted last night the presentation of the book "The Aviation and the Mar Menor", a meticulous work of historical research written by the Lieutenant Colonel of the Air Force, Pablo Meroņo.
The author, accompanied by the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, Regional Representative Monica Meroņo and the Councilor for Culture, Silvia Egea, in addition to numerous friends and colleagues, began the exhibition of his work after the presentation that the Colonel , Fernando Carrasco ArgÞeso, made on the author of the Pinatar.
Meroņo, who has used both oral and archival sources and bibliographies for this second book he publishes, focuses on the history and anecdotal of the facilities of the Air Force in the Mar Menor area, the air bases of San Javier and Los Alcazares, As well as other possible aerodromes of the area now almost forgotten and especially the General Air Academy.
The work is structured in the form of articles and narrates experiences, testimonies, facts and data, accompanied by abundant graphic material that in many cases has remained unpublished until now.
