The number of affiliates to Social Security stood at 7,187 contributors in April, the highest figure since 2008, representing a monthly increase of 4.1% and a 6.41% year-on-year increase.
The Councilor for Employment, José Fernández Andreo, said today that the figures for affiliation in April reached figures similar to those of 9 years ago, standing at 7,187 contributors, which means an increase of 299 people compared to the month of March (4.1%) and 461 contributors compared to April 2016 (6.41%).
The unemployment figures confirm this trend in overall terms in recent years, which have intensified during the month of April thanks to the Holy Week campaign, said the councilman.
Thus, unemployment registered at 30 April 2017 was 1,987 unemployed, representing a reduction of 155 unemployed compared to March (7.8%) and more than 11 points in year-on-year terms, with 220 fewer unemployed Than in April 2016.
