The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has today put in place a new deposit of lamination for the storage of water, which will prevent those coming from runoff to the Mar Menor.
The infrastructure has a capacity of 3,400 cubic meters, has been implemented in eight months and has invested 1.2 million euros.
Counselor Francisco Jódar visited the facilities, located in José Luis de los Ríos Martínez Park, and noted that "with this new infrastructure, framed in the Plan 'Vertido 0' to the Mar Menor, we contribute to conserve and protect the salt lagoon at Time that we improve the state of the bodies of water ".
The deposit is also integrated in the actions contemplated in the Hydrological Plan of the Demarcation of the Segura 2015-2021.
The works comprise a main collector (454 meters in length) that reaches a chest where it joins the existing general collector, from which leaves the final section of the main manifold (208 meters of pipe).
A secondary collector (215 m in length) has also been run, which collects the waters in the southern part of the tank.
Both collectors are joined and empty into the tank-sandbox entrance to the tank, which is made of reinforced concrete rectangular plant of 39.40 meters by 22.10 meters and 5.50 meters deep.
The total useful volume is about 3,400 cubic meters of water.
In addition, each module consists of a submerged pump ejector for cleaning the tank.
Likewise, a water spillway has been projected, which will work when it exceeds the forecasts of filling the tank.
The emptying of the tank will be carried out by means of two pumps housed in the modules, which carry the water through a 90 meter long pipeline to the sewage network.
The project includes the necessary electrical installations for the correct functioning, scuppers of surface water catchment, gardening and urbanization of the plot and the replacement of the affected services.
Deposits in riparian municipalities
At present, there are six rolling deposits in the riparian municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar (2), San Javier (2), Los Alcázares (1) and Cartagena (1).
On the other hand, there are 10 water storage tanks in different stages of execution.
Thus, in San Pedro del Pinatar is preparing the specifications for the contracting of the works of two warehouses.
In San Javier, a deposit is in the stage of awarding works and another in the tender phase for the drafting of the project.
In Los Alcázares, the draft of the two new rolling mills is being drafted.
In Cartagena, a project has been drafted, another three are the drafting phase of the project.
