The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Daniel Perez, the president of the Murcian Federation of cycling, Sergio Martínez Ros, and the presidents of Club Ciclista Pinatar, Demetrio Pedreño, and the Sports Association Sport Blue "Tela Marinera-MTB", Joaquín Villaescusa, inaugurated the new mountain bike track.
During the open days, dozens of cyclists from local clubs and from the quarry of several sports schools were able to try out this new mountain bike circuit, which completes the area of ​​the cross-country track in the municipal sports center.
The mayor explained that the new facility has 500 linear meters, which include about thirty obstacles and tests of different levels, such as ramps, floor of different surfaces, unevenness, jumps, etc., suitable for working various techniques.
Martínez said that the objective of this new facility is to respond to the demand of users of the sports center and local clubs, offering them a circuit oriented mainly to promote mountain biking from the base and expanding and diversifying the municipal sports offer.
In this sense, the mayor stressed that the infrastructure has been designed and built, almost in its entirety, by municipal staff and recalled that this action is part of the improvement and expansion of the municipal sports center, which has been transformed in recent years with new clues , Common areas and extension of opening hours to the public.
For his part, the president of the Cycling Federation of the Region has praised the creation of this facility and announced that on June 25 will be an official test with young cyclists from the Region.
