This summer, young people between the ages of 14 and 30 will enjoy nautical activities in the Mar Menor for only one euro, within the 'Blue Days' campaign to be held in the coastal municipalities of Cartagena, Los Alcázares, San Javier And San Pedro del Pinatar.
The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, presented this initiative today with the general director of Youth and the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez.
Adela Martinez-Cachá said that "Mar Menor is the best natural space for sports, health and leisure, and this campaign will further expand the offer of activities to live this summer in the lagoon."
The campaign 'Blue Days' will be held every Saturday from July 15 to September 9 in different schools and nautical centers of the Mar Menor.
The youngsters will be able to do light sailing, kayak, dragon boat, paddle surf (Sup), windsurf or maxi sup.
Adela Martínez-Cachá said that "with this initiative we will contribute to boost tourism in this important area of ​​our natural heritage, in which we all work for its full recovery. We will strengthen and make sustainable the Mar Menor with its protection, but generating new Employment opportunities and tourism promotion ".
The head of Education, Youth and Sports added that "the Mar Menor is a priority and strategic, as it is one of our pillars of development."
He also recalled that "this summer is expected to occupy hotels in the area more than 90 percent."
The Minister said that "the objective of the regional government is that the Mar Menor is associated with the brand of a sports tourism, healthy and quality."
Martinez-Cachá recalled that "Murcia is the community that offers the most important tax incentives in Spain to support the sport."
In this regard, he explained that "the regional government has pioneered the deduction of 30 percent of the tax base in the declaration of income to cultural and sports associations declared a public utility."
Inscriptions
Young people who want to enroll in one of the sports offered in the 'Blue Days' campaign must meet a single requirement, have the European Youth Card.
In total, 478 seats will be offered.
The enrolled will have to present the Youth Card and pay the euro at the school or nautical center where they have reserved the place to carry out the chosen activity, minors must also submit an authorization from the parents or guardians.
