The artists of the Company of Mario have realized this work that reflects the image of the Virgin, accompanied by the most representative icons of the locality like the fishermen, the salinas or the Mill Quintín.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, along with the patron of the fishermen's brotherhood, Jesús Antonio Gómez, and several members of the association of the Virgen del Carmen today visited the large mural that Mario's company is finalizing In the Pilgrimage Avenue of the Virgin of the Carmen in homage to the patron of the fishermen.
The mayor explained that this mural is part of the activities of the 125th anniversary of the Virgen del Carmen, and that it arises from the initiative to create something that will last in time.
The mural, 16 x 15 meters, has as its main image the Virgin of Carmen, held by the fishermen and their nets in the lower part and surrounded by a sunset in the Mar Menor in which elements such as sailing boats or salt mills .
Jesus Lorente, one of the artists who has done this work, has indicated that he intends to extol the figure of the Virgin, to locate it in the environment of the town and to accompany it with elements directly related to the Sea. In addition, it is placed the fishermen preparing the nets At the base of the composition as a symbol of work and effort.
The chosen orange and ocher tones are those of a typical of a sunset of the smaller sea that convey both serenity and warmth, he added.
The creators of this great mural have been Goyo 203, Koz and Jesus Lorente.
This initiative comes from the collaboration of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, the Company of Mario and the local company Pinturas Carrasco.
