The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, accompanied by María del Carmen Carrasco, inaugurated the exhibition dedicated to the life and work of Antonio Carrasco Díaz, "the artist teacher".
The mayor highlighted the career of Carrasco, a member of the Press Association and caricaturist in two important newspapers of the 30's in the Region.
After working as a police commissary, he moved to San Pedro del Pinatar, where he served as a teacher at the San Isidoro academy. He was a crier and made the cover of the book of the year 1961 without abandoning the passion that always accompanied him, painting .
María del Carmen, the niece of "the artist teacher", recalled the introverted character of Carrasco Díaz who, with the drawings, found his way of communicating with the world.
Antonio Carrasco made several collective exhibitions and now, once deceased, we can see a sample of his work in exclusive, engravings, posters, caricatures, watercolors, ink drawings and a replica of a classroom of the time in the Municipal Museum Barón de Benifayó Until August 31.
