The club UCAM Asociación Deportiva Pinatarense has completed the 2016-2017 season as one of the referents of regional and national canoeing, obtaining the Spanish Championship of Dragonboat, the championship of the women's league in kayak polo and important individual achievements nationally and internationally.
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the Councilor for Sports, Daniel Perez, today received in the City Hall the paddlers of the UCAM AD Pinatarense, which have closed a fantastic season at sports level.
Martínez Visitation has highlighted the work of this team in the promotion of base sport, an effort that this year has resulted in the club has 45 children in their ranks.
Besides the great exigency and quality that the athletes of Pinatar have demonstrated in the different modalities, consolidating like a referent of the regional and national canoeing.
Dragonboat modality highlights the first place obtained by the UCAM AD Pinatarense in the II Championship of Spain Dragon Boat, held in Trasona (Asturias), where he proclaimed champion of Spain by clubs.
A total of 58 pinatarenses and 16 boats competed in this championship, obtaining eight medals, among which three golds (category DB12 BCS, DB12 female veteran and DB12 mixed sub 18), two silver (DB12 female senior and DB22 Open) and Three bronzes (DB12 BCS, DB12 female veteran and DB22 mixed).
To these magnificent results are added the eight medals achieved in the European Championship Club held in Divonne Les Bains (France) in July.
Also noteworthy are the results of the different teams of Polo kayak, modality in which the senior female team was proclaimed champion of the league, qualifying for the championship of Europe by clubs to be held in September.
It also highlights the second place obtained by the sub 23 team, the fourth place of the U18 team and the sixth place of the senior men's team.
In addition, seven paddlers have been part of the national team.
It has also been a year of individual titles, among which stand out the third position in the World Cup in C2 1,000 meters obtained by Moushinne Moutahir, the three bronze of Maria Ramal in the World Cup, the Spanish championship obtained by Lázaro López de Haro in K1 200 meters June and the third place of Francisco Luengo in the Glass of Spain.
These results leave one of the best seasons for Canoeing Pinatarenses, placing fourths of Spain in the national championship of track.
