The Municipal Warehouse operators have carried out more than 200 works of painting, gardening, masonry, glassware, plumbing, signage, etc.
in the schools of the locality and its surroundings for the beginning of course.
The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the councils of Community Services and Education, has coordinated this summer dozens of repair and maintenance work in the six public schools in the locality, responding to the demands of the educational community and ensuring that the schools are in perfect condition for the start of the course next September 11.
Thus, the Mayoress, Visitation Martinez explained that locksmithing, carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, electricity, glassware or gardening have been carried out in classrooms, public areas and courtyards of public schools in the town.
Among other works have been made, blinds and windows, painting of classrooms and exterior areas, fitting of toilets, replacement of fences, gravel and asphalt replacement, repair of doors and locks, pruning of trees, etc.
These works, which have taken into account the priorities demanded by the management teams of the schools, have been completed with a thorough cleaning of the centers.
In addition, the accesses to the centers with vertical and horizontal signaling have been conditioned, to improve the security conditions, and the cleaning of the areas and lots close to schools and institutes has been done.
Visitación Martínez has indicated that the City Council intends this year
more than 380,000 euros for repair, maintenance and cleaning of schools, some works that are concentrated in the summer "to take advantage of the absence of activity and do not disturb the teaching activity, although all year round the needs are taken care of by the educational community ".
Thus, throughout the school year are carried out cleaning, maintenance and revision of elevators, provision of fuel for the heating of the centers, etc.
The mayor has concluded that the objective is "to continue working hand in hand, with the teaching community, to ensure that our children begin their classes in the best possible conditions."
