In recent years, the Popular Party Government Team in San Pedro is making an important commitment to active tourism as a measure of seasonality.
Through nature and sport, it is intended to attract visitors to our municipality throughout the year, and cycling and cycling are two clear examples of this policy.
Recently, a free mountain bike circuit (BTT) has been built, which has allowed us to join two important tests of the Murciana Cycling Federation (BTT Kids and Cycle Cross), cycling lanes are being added in new urban development projects and we continue to support the popular test of road cycling that is traditionally celebrated at the end of the year.
Also, the Regional Government is also working on cycling, with actions such as the adhesion of ITREM to the National Coordination of Eurovelo, the development of a cycle route in the interior of the Region (the Camino de Levante) or participation in important international fairs of the sector.
This type of policies and initiatives are what allow San Pedro to have tourism all year round and not only in July and August;
that the economy maintains its momentum during the less warm months and that a constant level of employment can be maintained.
