The Hotel de Asociaciones, located in the old Casa de la Juventud, begins its activity by hosting a dozen local associations from different areas.
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, together with the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Fuensanta García, delivered yesterday the various spaces of the Hotel of Associations to the groups that will occupy this building to develop their projects and activities.
During the opening ceremony, the mayor emphasized the wide and diverse association that the municipality has, "it was therefore a priority to provide these associations with their own space, a place where they can develop their projects, coexist with other groups and , at the same time, endow them with greater visibility and relevance, "he said.
Visitación Martínez also explained that from the beginning the associations have been heard, since their use regulations were submitted to a participatory process in which they were able to contribute suggestions and demands.
Thus, the Hotel of Associations is configured as an open space, with rooms ceded to various associations that may share space, as their meetings are periodic and do not need a permanent use of them.
In addition, other spaces for exclusive assignment, given the characteristics of the associations, that need these spaces for a more permanent activity, such as their use as a book bank and a food bank, have been set.
The Hotel de Asociaciones, located in the old Casa de la Juventud, has eight rooms distributed on two floors, which include a small auditorium, and an annexed area, with larger dimensions.
The City Hall has conditioned the building, in disuse since 2011, providing it with the necessary furniture to meet the needs of the associations.
Currently there are 10 associations that will use it, although it is open to any group that requests it.
Thus, the first "resident" of this hotel was the Federation of Fathers and Mothers FAPA Pinatar, which was given two rooms on the ground floor already in July given the need to locate in this space the municipal book bank .
The other association that has an exclusive space in this Hotel of Associations is Caritas, that occupies the zone next to the main block and where it will continue with the social work that realizes to the most needed and managing the food bank.
The other associations that join this hotel in its implementation are the Spanish Association against Cancer, with a room to hold their group meetings and assistance, the Association Virgen del Carmen, in charge of promoting and organize activities of tourist interest and cultural in relation to this important party.
The environmental association Hippocampus also has a space, which carries out activities aimed at recovering the horse of the Mar Menor;
the association Díscipulo Amado, which promotes traditions around the figure of St. John the Evangelist, and the Romanian Association ACORAMAR, which will stimulate educational projects related to its culture.
The Unión de Empresarios Pinatarenses also has a meeting point for the management of its initiatives;
as well as EDUCOYA, specializing in socio-educational projects, and the numerous local widows' association, which carries out its weekly meetings here.
