The environment of the Regional Park of Salinas and Arenales of San Pedro del Pinatar has hosted the fifth edition of this popular race that has gathered about 500 athletes in the absolute and children's tests.
Marina Marina Las Salinas has hosted this morning, at 10:00 hours, the departure of the fifth race Correlimos popular, included in the Murcia Runing Challenge.
The race included two races, one of 7.6 kilometers and another 13.4 kilometers, in addition to children's events, in which participants were able to enjoy the uniqueness of the landscape, through natural beaches, salt ponds, La Calcetera and Quintín, the cane fields, or mud baths of La Mota.
Also, the race had as technical challenge the different surfaces that have been faced by participants, from asphalt to sand, through paving stones and dirt.
In the 7.6-kilometer race, racer Fernando Moya of CA Tragamillas was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 26 minutes 20 seconds, followed by Ivan López of CAT Horadada (26 min 46 sec) and Welcome Ballester (26 min 52 sec).
In the women's category of this distance the winner was Raquel Melgar, with a time of 35 minutes 40 seconds, followed by the local broker Laura Meroño, 30 7 40 (35 min 48 sec) and Bárbara Lorente, also 30 7 40 ( 37 min 20 sec).
In the race of 13.4 kilometers the winner has been for the second year in a row Pepe Caracena, from Caracena Running, with a time of 48 min 40 sec, followed by Antonio Lorente, Mobel Automenor Running (48 min 46 sec) and Juan Alonso , from CA Puerto de Torrevieja (48 min 54 sec).
In the women's category the first was Mercedes Merino, Mobel Automenor Running (58 min 46 sec), followed by Beatriz Ríos, Grupo Alcáraz in second position (59 min 45 sec) and Elena Alcontud, CD Runitron Torrevieja (1 h 03 min 28 sec).
At around 12:00 hours the protagonist has been for the smallest, who have competed in distances of 100, 650, 1,300 and 1950 meters in the facilities of the Marina port of Las Salinas where, after the delivery of trophies, charge of the mayor, Visitation Martinez, the Councilor for Sports, Daniel Perez, and the Marina manager of Las Salinas, Domingo Macanás;
a traditional cauldron has been offered to all participants.
