The home of the pensioner José Espinosa de Lo Pagán has been the scene of this annual celebration that has included a mass, food of coexistence and performance of the choir.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, and the general director of Elderly and Disability, Ana Guijarro, today attended the "Grandparents Day", a commemoration to which are added each year the homes of the town with a great success of participation and that gathers more 320 majors.
Thus, the activities have begun at 13:00 hours with a mass, which has followed a meal of coexistence and the performance of the choir to close the day.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, together with the Councilor for Social Welfare Francisca Pelegrín, thanked the attendance to all present and highlighted the great involvement of the elderly in the society of Pinatar.
On the other hand, Ana Guijarro highlighted the activity of the Pinatarenses households, the good functioning of these associations and the Center of Day stays that takes care of major dependents and praised the great welcome of this initiative.
Also attending the event were the presidents of the Pension Associations of Lo Pagán and San Pedro, Pedro Vicente Sánchez and Mª Cleofé Pascual, respectively.
