The youngest are the protagonists of the 2017-2018 Christmas program, although they are also complemented by musical, cultural, solidarity or sports activities, among others, which will be developed mainly in the squares of Spain and the Constitution and the municipal tent.
The councilman of Celebrations, Javier Castejón, accompanied by Obdulia Rosique, representative of the Festival Commission, has presented today the Christmas program in San Pedro del Pinatar, which includes more than 50 activities from today, December 5 to January 14.
The municipal tent, located in the central avenue Emilio Castelar, will return to congregate a large part of the Christmas program, with children's activities such as theater, magic, circus, games, multi-adventure day, in addition to the contest of school villancicos and an exhibition of Local Police and Civil protection.
In addition to performances and shows such as the musical Mamma Mia on December 16, for the benefit of the Parish;
"Beauty and Beast", by the Peña El Caldero and with the collaboration of the singer Salva Ortega, on December 22;
the Musical Union Christmas concert, on December 28, "The Fantasy World" on December 29, or The Drilo Gang on Christmas, on December 30.
This year will also boost The Christmas Village, installed in the Plaza de España and this year will include a bouncy and Christmas crafts workshops, in a commercial promotion campaign in collaboration with local businesses.
On Friday, December 15, this space will be inaugurated with the arrival of Santa Claus, who will receive the little ones every afternoon until December 22, afterwards, from January 2 to 4, the royal pages will pick up the letters to the three wise men.
For its part, the Plaza de la Constitución will once again house the great municipal nativity scene and will highlight the parade of Santa Claus, on December 23 and the traditional cavalcade of the Magi on January 5.
In addition to the extensive programming, the showcase and nativity scene contests are consolidated, with which they intend to preserve traditions and encourage local commerce.
The winners, who will have the commission of parties as jury, will receive awards between 100 and 250 euros, which will be delivered at a gala on January 7 at the Municipal Tent.
The Councilman of Celebrations, Javier Castejón, thanked the work of the various councils involved in this program, such as Celebrations, Youth, Culture, Sports, Social Services, Police and Civil Protection and Education, in addition to the involvement of various groups and local associations.
The Cultural Casino will once again organize the parade of the royal emissary, on December 4 and that day will also be staged in the Church of San Pedro Apóstol the Christmas car, organized by the Brotherhood of Santiago Apóstol.
Among other groups and associations, the Coral Patnia will offer a concert for the benefit of Cáritas in the Church of the Holy Trinity together with the choir of the IES Dos Mares, on December 22, the housewives organize bingo to benefit AFACMUR and its traditional Christmas act on December 15, and homes for the elderly will once again have a relevant role in these holidays with various activities such as the opening of their cribs, raffle raffles or the intergenerational parties of grandparents and grandchildren.
