The month of December hosts two important cultural events, the I Modernist Route Villa de San Pedro, in which dozens of people will tour the streets of the town dressed in typical clothes of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and a large pictorial exhibition with works of distinguished contemporary Murcian authors.
The Councilor for Culture, Siliva Egea, the president of the Friends of Museums Association, Marcos David Gracia, the president of the AC Modernistas of Cartagena de Levante, José Antonio Martínez and the curator of the exhibition of Murcia painters, Darío Villegas, have presented today the cultural activities that will take place in the municipality during the month of December.
The councilor has highlighted the appeal of these two cultural events, which will start this Sunday, December 17 with the I Villa de San Pedro Modernist Route and continue on the 21st with the inauguration of the exhibition of Murcian Painters of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Silvia Egea thanked the promoters of these activities who bet on the municipalities, decentralizing the cultural offer and allowing the people from Pinata to enjoy different and high quality events.
For its part, the president of the Association of Friends of Museums, organizer of both events with the City Council, has reiterated the commitment of this group to continue working for the cultural activity around the Baron de Benifayó museum and has praised the provision and work for the coordination of the route and the exhibition.
The president of AC Modernistas de Cartagena Levante, José Antonio Martínez, explained that more than 60 people, dressed in traditional costumes of the 19th and 20th century;
both of "high flights" as of characteristic trades of the time;
They will tour the streets of the town, starting from the Barón de Benifayó Museum, at 10:00 am and ending the day in the Plaza de la Constitución, in front of the Municipal Bethlehem.
On the other hand, Darío Villegas, has indicated that the exhibition of Murcian painters of the nineteenth and twentieth century, which can be seen in the Baron de Benifayó museum from December 21 to January 17, includes works by the best regional authors, among the which include names such as Ramón Gaya, Molina Sánchez, Pedro Flores, Hernández Carpe, Avellaneda or Gómez Cano, among others.
An extensive collection, conceived to be admired and also acquired, since it gives the option to purchase the different works that are part of this collection, collecting a wide range of both prices and formats, Villegas said.
