The events took place this morning in the street Campoamor de Lo Pagán, where 11 containers of different types of waste and palm trees were lit.
The Local Police of San Pedro del Pinatar today arrested the alleged perpetrator of two arsons this morning in the street Campoamor de Lo Pagán, produced by the burning of 11 containers and several palm trees on the same road.
The Local Police councilor, Angela Gaona, explained that, after 05:30 am, the plant received an alert for a fire on this road, to where several police units and the fire service move.
Subsequently, around 06:15 a second alert occurs, warning of a container fire in the same street, to which camouflaged police vehicles move to try to find the material author of these vandalism.
Angela Gaona has pointed out that the police action culminated at 6.40 am, when a patrol surprised the alleged perpetrator of the fires on San Lorenzo Street, 400 meters from the second fire, trying to light a plastic container.
The suspect, 32 years old and Colombian nationality, is arrested after a chase on foot and among his belongings are several lighters and flammable materials allegedly used for the commission of such crimes.
The council has had an impact on the enormous damage that this type of vandalism that affects urban furniture and other elements of the public thoroughfare for the municipality, as well as the risk that this type of behavior entails for citizens.
