The Brotherhood Santiago Apóstol and the Cultural Casino organize this parade in which a mysterious princess coming from the East on a white horse announces the arrival of the Magi and collects letters with the wishes of the youngest in the saddlebags of a borrica.
Last Thursday, January 5, San Pedro del Pinatar welcomed the arrival of a royal emissary, a mysterious princess who, on the back of a white horse, announced the imminent arrival of the Magi through the streets of the municipality.
Among the entourage of the royal emissary stood a donkey with magical saddlebags, where the children had to deposit their requests to their Majesties of the East so that their wishes could be fulfilled on the night of Kings.
The parade, organized by the Brotherhood of Santiago Apóstol and the Cultural Casino, with the collaboration of the theater group of San Javier, departed at around 8:30 pm from Barón de Benifayó Street, in front of the Church, to the Casino , in Emilio Castelar Avenue, where the princess received the little ones.
Dozens of Samaritans and other biblical characters also participated in the parade and the music of a rondalla marked the rhythm of the parade with carols and popular songs.
AUTO OF THE KINGDOMS
In addition, before the parade, the theater group of San Javier and members of the Hermandad Santiago Apóstol, made a small piece of the traditional Auto de los Reyes Magos in which they recreated the Annunciation of the birth of Jesus to the shepherds and their adoration.
These acts precede the traditional procession of the Magi that, after arriving by boat at Lo Pagán, around 6:00 pm, will depart today from the Esplanade to the Municipal Tent.
