This consultative body formed by public officials, representatives of the different political groups, associations, businessmen, and other agents involved in the tourism sector has addressed the contributions to the Strategic Plan of Tourism of San Pedro del Pinatar, the tourism promotion of the town in Fitur and the current state of the Mar Menor.
The Plenary Hall of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar has hosted today the meeting of the Sectorial Council of the town, an organ composed of 26 members and has among its functions to collect proposals from different groups to improve tourism services in the town and delve into the seasonality.
During today's session, the contributions made to the Strategic Tourism Plan have been exposed, those that are underway or being studied and those that have been included for the 2018 budget, such as the promotion and expansion of tourist routes in the town, as well as as new events, or the improvement of infrastructures and public spaces such as El Puerto avenue, Campoamor street or the Reyes del Mar park in Spain, among other measures.
The campaign that will be shown at the FITUR International Tourism Fair has also been shown, showing the town as a family tourist destination with experiences and activities to be carried out throughout the year.
Later, during the question and answer session, the interest was mainly focused on the state of the Mar Menor and the actions that are being carried out in it.
In this regard, the general director of the Mar Menor, Antonio Luengo, has explained the constant monitoring and study of the behavior of the lagoon, among other measures.
This Sectorial Council is a channel for citizen participation in which the agents involved in the municipal tourism sector, together with political representatives and municipal technicians with consultative status establish reports, proposals, and suggestions for improvement in the topics related to municipal tourism.
