The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, has reported that the City of San Pedro del Pinatar has issued on January 24 response to the Ombudsman about the requirement received from this institution a day earlier, in relation to the letter of the Ombudsman of the Town on the ordinance of use and enjoyment of the beaches of the municipality, last October.
Visitación Martínez explained that the City Council has already answered the person who made the complaint to the Ombudsman at the time and has expressed its strongest respect to the institution.
In addition, it has clarified that Ciudadanos is not a party to this process, as there is no requirement from this political group to the Ombudsman.
The mayor explained that the response to the Ombudsman justifies the reasons that led to the regulation contained in the current ordinance of Use and Enjoyment of the beaches and why La Plana Beach was not cataloged as naturist.
In this regard has indicated that currently that beach has increased its influx, it is necessary to increase the surveillance and rescue service up to three lifeguards, which is frequented by users who mostly wear the swimsuit and there were complaints to the small percentage of people who practiced nudism , which was around 5 percent.
He added that "if these circumstances change in the future the ordinance would be reviewed, giving transfer to all groups that may have an interest in this matter" and recalled that the current standard was submitted to a process of Citizen Participation.
Visitación Martínez has criticized the spokesman for Citizens in the City of San Pedro del Pinatar "represents a theater, a fictitious scenario of repression that does not exist in San Pedro del Pinatar, as demonstrated by the normality with which this summer has been applied the aforementioned normative".
"José Luis Ros returns to totally turn his back on the reality of San Pedro del Pinatar, with the sole objective of gaining political revenue and media visibility," he concluded.
