"This money has not brought any real benefit to our tourism and they have paid for a publicity trip for pleasure," says orange spokesman José Luis Ros
The municipal group of citizens asked today during the Plenary to the PP Government team explanations for the expenditure of 12,500 euros that incurred for the recent edition of the International Tourism Fair, Fitur.
The orange spokesman, José Luis Ros, has asked for explanations to the more than 3,000 euros in expenses and the 9,500 in advertising that the Consistory has "squandered without any real benefit to our tourism sector palpable" and considers that the expense " it has only served to cover a publicity trip of pleasure and to 'irrigate' with institutional publicity the clientelar network of the PP in San Pedro del Pinatar ".
"The mayor has not yet contributed the number of meetings held at Fitur, nor the name of the companies or the contracts signed, although we registered a specific question in this regard," said Ros, who laments that "this investment does not has had no real benefit in the form of contracts signed by hotel companies, tourism distributors, tour operators ... The extensive political delegation of San Pedro del Pinatar in Fitur has not achieved any result in this regard, and has been dedicated to walk around the fair and Madrid charged to the taxpayer ".
Ros believes that Fitur is the culmination of a regrettable municipal tourism management this term, recalling that "in 2016 the main action to attract tourists was to bet on the game Pokemon Go, with the consequent absolute failure;
while during the past year we were protagonists of national and even international news for its restrictive and absurd ordinance of beaches, a regulation that even the Ombudsman has asked to be rectified, without the Mayor, as in the case of Balneario Floridablanca , have moved a finger. "
Citizens San Pedro del Pinatar believes that the PP government team was lost and lacking objectives at the fair.
According to Ros, "in a year that should have been the year of the Mar Menor and not the cultural tourism, San Pedro del Pinatar has not even appeared in the regional video of cultural tourism, having one of the best-known festivities in this sense, the pilgrimage of the Virgen del Carmen, which last year reached its 125th anniversary and which struggles to be recognized as of National Tourist Interest ".
