The Integra Foundation digitizes 884 pages of chapter records of the nineteenth century of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar (28/01/2018)

The initiative is part of the Crimson Project and aims to disseminate and protect the documentary heritage of the Region

The Integra Foundation has digitized 884 pages of nineteenth-century capitulary minutes of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar thanks to the collaboration agreement they signed last December in the Crimson Project, which involves the digitalization of historical documents to facilitate cataloging and access to them.

Specifically, through this project has been carried out the digitization of 14 books of capitular acts belonging to the Municipal Archive of the City and dating from 1836 to 1850.

After carrying out this work, the digitized documents can be consulted through the Murcia Region Digital portal and the Integra Foundation will give the Consistory a copy of these to improve the conservation of the originals and promote their dissemination.

The Integra Foundation has been developing the Crimson Project since 2005, which aims to disseminate and protect the documentary heritage of the Region, through the digitalization, cataloging and dissemination of regional multimedia historical archives.

The project has the collaboration of the General Directorate of Cultural Assets of the Community, through the General Archive of the Region of Murcia, and the General Directorate of Archives and Libraries of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

More than a million digitized pages

Since the project was launched in 2005, the Community has digitized more than one million pages corresponding to seven centuries of history of the Region of Murcia in order to preserve these documents and facilitate their subsequent dissemination.

Most of the documents digitized to date correspond mainly to manuscripts and periodicals, in which writing predominates.

In addition, other types of more recent and graphic documents, such as photography and video, are included.

The Digital Heritage action, which is part of the Carmesí project, receives funding from European Funds for Regional Development (Feder), and from the Community.
