The councilman of Celebrations of the City council of San Pedro of the Pinatar, Javier Castejón, has presented / displayed today in press conference the activities of the Carnival 2018, next to the author of the poster, the painter Gaby Guillén.
The mayor explained that this year the acts will start on Friday, February 10, with the gala "Welcome to Carnival", in the municipal tent, where different local troupes will take the stage to present their costumes, the Mask of Carnival will be delivered 2018 to a person related to this festivity and recreate the traditional battle of Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, which this year will be carried out by amateur actors from the region.
In addition, the gala will feature the performances of the local ballet Kebanna of the international group La Sal de Torrevieja, and the amusing intervention of the Yeray transformist.
The turn for the little ones will be on Saturday, February 11, with the celebration of the Children's Carnival in the Plaza de la Constitución, which will start at 11:00 with a catwalk in which a gift will be given to all the children in disguise.
At 12:00 hours the musical "Sonrilandia" will be performed.
The party will continue in the afternoon with a park of inflatables, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and workshops of masks, face painting, and crafts from 5:00 pm.
On Sunday, February 11, at 5:00 p.m., the Grand Carnival parade will start, in which about thirty local comparsas and other municipalities of the Region participate, which will leave the parking lot next to the Parque Condesa Villar from Felices to the tent of the Esplanade of Lo Pagán, where the prizes will be awarded in the different categories.
For its part, Gaby Guillén, who this year signs the poster of Carnival, has indicated that in this work, characterized by color and its particular art pop style, "he wanted to reflect the joy of the carnival, including elements of San Pedro of the Pinatar, like the flamingos, the sea or the palms ".
