The Alzheimer's Association of the Mar Menor (AMMA) has launched the project And who cares for us?
Its main objective is to offer support to caregivers of people with Alzheimer's or other neurodegenerative diseases.
The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Fuensanta García, visited this support workshop today, an initiative of AMMA and financed through a municipal subsidy for social health associations.
The program And who cares for us?
It takes place every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the home of the Pensioner of San Pedro del Pinatar, headquarters of the association, and is addressed to all interested persons who have a family member with Alzheimer's disease or a neurodegenerative disease.
Through different workshops given by a neuropsychologist, they will learn new tools and tips to treat these patients, as well as skills to manage the care of the caregiver, so that their quality of life and well-being will not be diminished.
In addition, depending on the type of pathology that each case presents, personalized guidelines will be offered to study the case.
Fuensanta García praised this initiative and thanked the president of AMMA, Raquel Peña, the commitment and involvement of this association in the municipality, reiterating her confidence in this project.
